چکیده

An agarose technique able to demonstrate tuberculin-induced migration inhibition of human peripheral leucocytes is described. The inhibition was well correlated to the sensitivity of the cell donor as expressed by the delayed intracutaneous reaction to tuberculin. [The SCIa indicates that this paper has been cited in over 250 publications since 1971, making it the most-cited paper published in this ournal to date.]

A study of peripheral leucocyte migration in agarose medium in inflammatory bowel disease.

THE MIGRATION OF PERIPHERAL LEUCOCYTES FROM PATIENTS WITH INFLAMMATORY BOWEL DISEASE WAS INVESTIGATED USING AN AGAROSE PLATE TECHNIQUE AND THREE ANTIGENIC MATERIALS: (1) the enterobacterial common antigen of Kunin; (2) extract from germ-free rat faeces; and (3) Kveim suspension from a sarcoid spleen K19. Inhibition of migration was obtained only with Kunin antigen. It was present in 11 out of 2...

The Identification of proteins present in culture filtrare of Mycobacterium tuberculosis DT and comparison with human tuberculin proteins by electrophoretic methods

Abstract Background and objectives: Tuberculin is the proteins existed in tuberculosis culture medium which precipitated by trichloroacetic acid (TCA) or ammonium sulfate. Tuberculin is used for diagnosis of Tuberculosis. The aim of this study is to compare the human tuberculin produced by Razi Institute and Mycobacterium tuberculosis Culture Filtrate Protein. Material and Methods: Initially By...

Amplified migration inhibition effect.

When tuberculin-sensitive peritoneal exudate cells are incubated in a culture flask with tuberculin purified protein derivative, macrophage inhibition factor and other lymphokines are released into the culture medium. We have described how, if incubation is carried out in a stationary conical culture tube, intercellular contact between the peritoneal exudate cells is facilitated as the cells se...

Effect of famotidine on radiation induced apoptosis in human peripheral blood leukocytes

ABSTRACTBackground: Radioprotective effects of famotidine, an antagonist of H2 receptor clinically used for peptic ulcer treatment, was previously shown on radiation-induced micronuclei and chromosomal aberration in human peripheral blood lymphocytes and mouse bone marrow cells. This study was conducted to investigate radioprotective property of famotidine against radiation induced apoptosis i...

The Lymphocytic Origin of a Plasma Factor Responsible for Hypersensitivity in Vitro of Tuberculin Type

Methods are described for the evaluation in vitro of the effect of tuberculin on the leucocytes of peripheral blood. Washed leucocytes from a tuberculin sensitive host suspended in normal plasma are not lysed by tuberculin until after several hours of contact. Washed leucocytes from a tuberculin-sensitive host slowly release into normal plasma a factor which will cause the lysis of normal leuco...
